It depends though on the age and maturity of your students and the kind of cultural background they come from, as to how much and at what age you can use this. You could just ask them not to use the hand gestures, or you could actually deal with an explanation of why and tell students that they are offensive. Of course some students will always be more attracted to the things that are forbidden, so if you have students like this, then perhaps it's better not to use activities that give them free hands on use of the site.

Best

NikNik Peacheyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13397596906147004693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3283339544946232720.post-700836627247008892008-08-24T21:04:00.000+01:002008-08-24T21:04:00.000+01:00First impressions of this site indicate that the c...First impressions of this site indicate that the children would enjoy this tool just like they do with voki (www.voki.com). However, when you go through the options it becomes obvious that it really is not suitable for younger children. Take for instance the clothes for females that reveals a little too much and the option of the middle finger or two fingers. This is a great pity that the makers have placed a barrier to a tool that had great potetntial with children.

Sharon TonnerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3283339544946232720.post-52024681542198599502008-08-23T12:34:00.000+01:002008-08-23T12:34:00.000+01:00Very interesting resource to be used in the EFL cl...Very interesting resource to be used in the EFL classroom, mainly because I believe it may appeal to students since all the involving activities you mention that could be done might be useful to them in order to develop collaborative and sociolinguistic skills.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3283339544946232720.post-34674387100588855042008-08-23T01:19:00.000+01:002008-08-23T01:19:00.000+01:00Nice idea, Nik- BTW have you tried GoAnimate?
